Phase Eleven. The unlearning and Spiritual rejuvenation phase
This phase usually happens after a dark night of the soul or other prominent awaking stages, such as an evolution in consciousness, such as developing your intuition or strengthening your ability to hear your inner voices.
You become eager to change your life-force-draining habits as you walk your spiritual path; you want to transform your life-draining habits into life-affirming ones.
What is unlearning?
Unlearning refers to the mental process of reversing or consciously forgetting our usual way of doing something to learn a new and better way; it is used a lot in spirituality and psychology practices to unlearn harmful thoughts and behaviours.
It is not easy, but by making an effort, we can eventually improve our skills, spiritual understanding and overall knowledge.
For example, if you’re used to typing with your left hand, you might have to switch to using your right hand for some tasks to unlearn the old habit and learn a new one.
Another example is if you’ve been struggling with anxiety and depression, it might be helpful to unlearn the old patterns of thought and behaviour that led to those conditions in the first place.
This will allow you to start fresh and build new habits around positive thinking and relaxation instead.
It is necessary to reject, abandon, and give up self-destructive habits on your spiritual path, purposefully deciding not to do them anymore, such as giving up on toxic thoughts, relationships and behaviours.
Unlearning helps you become more aware and enables you to realise how much your old ways of thinking and behaving were destroying your psychological, spiritual, emotional, financial or physical health.
Practising unlearning allows you to make new and better decisions in the future based on your current knowledge and understanding rather than relying on past habits.
The first step in spiritual unlearning is recognizing that we are spiritual beings and having faith that this is true, moving away from anything that’s not aligned with this.
We can’t unlearn what we don’t believe, so the first step is to realise that we believe in something (our spiritual nature).
Once we’ve acknowledged our belief, the next step is admitting that there are different paths to follow and learn from.
It is true that your current beliefs define who and what we are, but they’re not always perfect, and what we believe in one stage of life may need to be upgraded at the next.
The key part of unlearning on the spiritual level is accepting that we will have to let go of beliefs we have come to rely on to grow and transcend as an individual and form new ones.
There are several reasons why it's important to unlearn our old ways:
– We may become stuck in ruts and struggle to progress because we repeat the same mistakes repeatedly.
– Our methods may no longer work as well as they did when we were beginners, so learning a new approach will allow us to reach our full potential.
– Repeating the same tasks can lead to boredom and apathy – if we don’t challenge ourselves, then how will we ever grow?
Learning a new skill is never easy – but by following these tips, you’ll be on your way towards becoming more effective and efficient!
- Reading and studying material that challenges your current beliefs and practices. This can be found in books, articles or online resources.
- Talk to someone who disagrees with you about important matters to gain a new perspective and understanding. This could be a family member, friend or colleague. This one is so important to avoid the pitfalls of spiritual ego and bypassing.
- Practising meditation or mindfulness techniques helps you focus on your thoughts and feelings without judgemental interference from outside sources.
- Taking on a new challenge that you find daunting but which also pushes your boundaries. This could be learning a new skill, undertaking an ambitious project or meeting someone new.
Each of these activities has the potential to help you learn and grow in ways that may not have been accessible before.
Researching and experimenting with different methods and approaches as you walk your spiritual path makes it possible to find what works best for you and establish a foundation for continued growth in practice.
What is spiritual rejuvenation?
The “spiritual rejuvenation.” Phase is when you are called to update or let go of existing practices and beliefs to be transformed into new modes of being in this world and relating to yourself and others.
In this stage, you begin to see the spiritual changes in your life. We may experience a shift in perspective and a new level of understanding about ourselves and the world around us.
This is an essential stage of transformation, so be prepared for challenges and growth.
Rejuvenating your spiritual energy after a dark night of the soul, a consciousness upgrade or an unlearning phase is essential.
The rejuvenation period is a chance to let what isn’t working for you go, to reawaken your passion, and to recommit to your spiritual path.
It’s vital to take time to recharge and renew your energy regularly. Make yourself a priority; a critical element in achieving spiritual growth is finding time to take a break and go within to re-energize and refocus.
Spiritual rejuvenation is good to practice every time you understand a new thing that you have been trying to learn for a while.
Which seems to just click in an instant or after a long period of research, spiritual test and psychological and emotional turmoil; this can be one of the happier periods of your spiritual path.
After you take some time out to relax after a challenging period, your Spiritual and self-awareness will really shift gear as you experience a shift in perspective and integrate your lessons into your daily life by changing your thoughts and actions to match your new-found knowledge, turning it into wisdom as you practice it day in and day out.
You will go through this phase many times on your journey, Don’t rush it; it can be unnerving as things you once believed in, even spiritual concepts, may become meaningless now, as you are called to adopt a new principle altogether.
The exact reasons for this I am still working out, but many times on the path, we are made to believe in things that we will have to unbelieve at many times.
I have reasoned it as a test to gauge our discernment, integrity and ability to use our subconscious and conscious minds in unison to solve our problems and navigate our day to days lives.
Because that’s where our vibration or level of understanding was at the time, and this was the only way our higher self, divine consciousness and spiritual guides could get out attention and open us to spiritual knowledge.
As already stated, the spiritual path is about unlearning what we have been taught; this can be painful, as we can become attached to specific spiritual practices and toys.
Yet to keep advancing, we must become like water, willing to flow in the direction of our continuous growth.
Tips to schedule time to rejuvenate spiritually
- Plan a personal retreat often, especially after each shift in perspective. A retreat is not just about retreating from the physical world but also retreating inwardly. To get the most out of it, escaping the external obligations and diversions of life as much as you can is key.
Set aside a moment when life’s hustle and bustle has quietened, and all of your obligations have been set aside. Make it a time to be with yourself, reflect and rejuvenate, and reconnect with your spirit’s depths.
Take this time to refresh, renew and recharge. Don’t forget that if you don’t prioritise taking care of yourself, you’ll run on an empty tank and have nothing to offer to anyone else.
Make time to nurture your spirit, mind, and body. Refuel and renew yourself, so you can continue to give your best to others. Self-care is essential to prepare to move into the next phase of your spiritual awakening journey.
- Ask yourself what you wish to achieve during your spiritual rejuvenation phases. When you take the time to retreat and focus your energy on something specific, you can gain a lot of wisdom, insight and clarity.
This is especially true if you seek to solve a particular problem or overcome some emotional challenges. Focusing your thoughts and emotions in one place can help clear away the anger and frustration that have been holding you back. You will also find yourself with more energy and motivation to move forward in your life.
This might be anything from resolving a conflict with someone close to you, gaining new insights into a particular subject area, or rediscovering a passion for your spiritual path and personal growth journey.
Then set up an agenda for yourself for the duration of the retreat so that everything stays on track.

Then you can use your refreshed energy to help the people around you. Take some ‘me-time’ and rejuvenate your spirit!
At times it can seem like experiencing a crash course on radical acceptance and evolution; everything can happen all at once, being rapidly pushed through a tight tunnel towards an immense Light.
This phase is a time of tremendous personal growth and expansion, both inwardly (understanding yourself more deeply) and outwardly (growing in your connection to other people, nature, or whatever spiritual practice you may be following).
This is a time when you may get sudden and new insights that make complete sense after many years of personal spiritual exploration and revelations about your true identity or place in the cosmos, which can generate feelings of awe and oneness with the universe.
Don’t worry if things initially seem overwhelming – these are exciting times!

Phase Twelve. Being more sensitive to environments and Energy Signatures
On your spiritual path, you will become more sensitive to your own and other people’s moods, and your intuition and inner voice will alert you if something is off or good in someone or a situation.
As you develop your self-awareness and build your spiritual practice, you will become more alert to negative and positive vibes; this allows you to make the best choices to promote your overall well-being.
No matter what form it takes, energy is constantly in motion, even when we can’t directly see it!
At its root, this motion is made up of powerful vibrations, forming powerful fields of energy around living things like us.
These vibrations manifest as waves of emotions and feelings that we all carry within us; animals, plants, stars, planets, and everything in the cosmos have an energy signature, so don’t be fooled into thinking they don’t exist!
The accumulation of vibrational energy has a powerful impact on the overall quality of your life!
Don’t underestimate the significance of these vibrations – they exist in the external world and can directly affect your internal experience!
If you have a negative energy signature, don’t worry; with hard work and awareness, It is possible to modify your energetic signature.
Many people refer to “having a vibe” or “giving off a vibe,” and while they are often used in a negative context, there is a certain truth to it; our energy and the frequency at which it vibrates is something we are born with.
It is believed that the speed of energy surrounding us determines this frequency.
As time progresses, we can observe how this signature affects emotions, reactions to events, and thought processes.
Our energetic signature is the vibratory energy that constitutes our identity: our thoughts, beliefs, emotions and values.
It is the culmination of our current and past life experiences and can influence us to create similar experiences.
We can expand our energetic signature by gaining new knowledge, interacting with new people, and having stimulating experiences.
It is not uncommon for unfavourable vibrations to lead to adverse results.
It is pretty easy to observe how the atmosphere shifts to a different frequency when one is no longer in harmony with the energetic forces of their environment.
For example, imagine an aggressive person walking into a room where everyone has just finished a seven-day vipassana or another silent meditation retreat; those participating in the retreat are bound to feel the negative vibes the angry person has brought into the room.
In today’s world, it is not uncommon for people to experience emotions such as melancholy, irritation, or rage, even in response to seemingly trivial matters.
These negative emotional states can have far-reaching repercussions on your interpersonal connections, professional trajectories, and how you interact with the world.
Although your energetic signature demonstrates your personal growth and development, it does not necessarily determine who you are as a spiritual being.
You have the power to create positive transformation and redefine your energetic signature.
So we can see that there is a signature of everything we perceive in the physical and ethereal dimensions, and all in between are unique.
Warm items, for example, emit a different energy signal than chilly items because they are toasty- hot to the touch.
As a result, the energy signature of fluffy or soft things differs from that of complicated things; everything in the cosmos, including physical objects such as a desk and intangible states of mind such as feeling fearful, have energy signatures.
So, for example, just as all people have different energy signatures based on things suchas your current state of mind, clothing, current life path, and past lives.
Objects with a high vibration level (like sound or light) have a different energy signature than those that don’t vibrate as much.
As mentioned, energy signatures are also associated with different emotions.
For example, happiness’s energy signature differs from unhappiness’s energy signature. And the energy signature of anger is different from the energy signature of pessimism.
Because all things have an energetic vibration or frequency, the emotions and thoughts a person allows to think and feel constantly influence how people feel and operate in our world.
So it’s not just physical characteristics like size and shape that influence an object’s energy Signature – anything that affects how a thing vibrates can also affect its energetic vibrations, including what we say or do to it!
This is why different people respond differently to the same thing – it’s partly due to their personal energy signatures and those of the things and people around them.
1) We feel happier or sadder depending on the energy signature of what we’re looking at. For example, a happy person will tend to have a high-energy vibration, making them feel good physically and emotionally. On the other hand, a sad person will have a low-energy vibration, which will lead to feelings of sadness and depression. this is not to shame anyone; just explaining.
2 ) We see things differently depending on the energy signature of what we’re looking at. For example, if you look at something that’s brightly coloured and has high levels of vibration, your eyes will start to move around more quickly as they try to take in as much information as possible. Light and different colours stimulate the brain, giving us too much information all at once!
3) Our energy signatures also influence our emotions. If someone has a happy energy signature, they’ll usually approach life with more enthusiasm and excitement than someone who has a sad energy signature. This is why people in sales sometimes seem to be able to ‘sell the sky’ – because they are or can fake an energy signature makes them see helpful, positive
4) Our emotions also affect the way we think and act. If someone’s feeling excited or energetic, they’ll usually have a positive outlook on life, leading them to make more decisions quickly and efficiently than if they were feeling downbeat.
As you walk your past, it is essential to become aware of energy signatures and to keep yours as balanced and uplifted as possible; it’s ok to have off moments and days; we all get them.
Yet it’s crucial that you engage in optimistic thinking and take positive action daily; the spiritual goal is to be centred in your energy so you are not affected by outside energy vibrations, yet it takes time, dedication and awareness to reach this state.
Still, as you awaken, you will find that you are more sensitive to people and environments on your journey, and this can turn you into a brat as you let your spiritual ego and bypassing take over.
Especially during the early stages because you may actively voice to others to change their negative vibe and be overzealous about protecting your vibration, which can lower your vibration.
It’s not your fault; it’s part of the process; after all, yano, all you notice is certain people and places that drain you, and you want it to stop.
It’s a natural and necessary phase of the awakening journey; to be insensitive to those who are still struggling with areas you have learned to manage or others come.
Yet it is important to practice compassion and be empathetic to the pain and others, whether they are vibrating high or not.
Although you may feel that spiritual advancement is a badge of honour or makes others less than equal to you, this is far from the case; I remind you once again that the central principle of spirituality is to do no harm.
Also, during the phases of being more sensitive to energy signatures and your environment, you can become insensitive to your pain and try and rush yourself to enlightenment.
Even fooling yourself that you are more progressed than you are, again, again, this is an essential step on the journey.
When we’re exposed to too much negative energy, it can cause us physical and emotional discomfort.
This is known as an energetic overload, and it’s something that often happens when we’re surrounded by people or things who are energetically incompatible with us.
Yet energetic overload can be experienced due to your energy signature fluctuating- going up and down as you experience the various stages of your spiritual awakening journey.
Especially as you go through the early stages of your spiritual rebirth, dark night of the souls, spiritual ego-bypassing and ego-death stages, working on uncovering, understanding, healing and managing your unresolved psychological, emotional and spiritual trauma.
Which can mess with your ability to stabilise your energy signature, it is necessary to know that energetic overload can also happen if you do too much, and yes, there is such a thing as overdoing spiritual activities.
To the extent you Ignore practical things like fun and taking care of things such as household cleaning, paying the bills etc, as your love of your spiritual tools and practices dominates your life.
As you walk your path, it’s essential to know the end goal of spirituality is to serve others by doing all you can to make a better world.
Firstly by learning to understand, balance and manage your life’s emotional, psychological, spiritual, financial and physical areas.
We all go through periods where we get lost in a ritual as we try to be the best at our spiritual practice, whether we choose yoga, one of the forms of mediation or mindfulness, breathing exercises, tai chi or any other discipline.
Focusing excessively on prefect your knowledge and application of your spiritual tools not only makes you neglect other areas of your life and can lead to excessive anxiety, stress, depression or fear.
As you focus on doing everything right instead of being in the moment and taking it slow as you integrate new practices and ways of thinking into your life, so is important not to beat yourself up, as this is a trap we all fall into.
Yet you need to keep in mind that spirituality is not about perfection; it is about flow, and accepting your energy signature will go up and down.
Taking the time needed to heal your trauma and slowly refine your character as you learn to manage your lower self and accept your higher self and divine consciousness guidance.
From a spiritual perspective, achieving a flow state involves relinquishing one’s ego and cultivating an awareness of one’s journey, strengthening one’s intuition in the process and letting events unfold naturally.
Specific environments can be especially harmful to your energy than others, such as crowded spaces and toxic situations, for example, and exposure to these trigger situations can result in emotional sensitivity.
You can end up feeling overwhelmed by the amount of noise and commotion around you, which reduces your ability to focus and think straight and remain in your spiritual centre.
Especially at the start of your spiritual awakening, specific environments can make you struggle to connect with your intuition and psychic abilities; negative emotional vibrations can blur your spiritual vision.
So what can we do to avoid this kind of situation?
The best thing you CAN do is protect yourself from being energetically overloaded in the first place, doing your best to be aware of different energy signatures and training yourself to become less affected by them as the year’s roll by.
Make sure you limit your exposure to crowded places or anything else that drains your energy whenever possible and try to stick with people or things who are compatible with your Energy Signature.
But we don’t live in an ideal world, and although avoidance is best in your early stages of awakening, the goal is to remain centred in your own being and your connection with the divine, no matter what is happening around you.
This can take years of practice, and even then, as we are human, there will be times when you get affected by your own and others’ negative emotions, and you go through the ups and downs of life.
As I have said many times, we can never escape that life will always contain suffering, uncertainty and hard work
Not in a snobbish, oh, you are draining my vibe, you are spiritually dead, and I am awake, kind of way, but in a self-aware, I have to have compassion for this person who doesn’t know better or is not awakened yet
And being unawake-known as the sleeping state- is not a mark of inferiority; after all, not all people alive or here follow a spiritual path.
We all have periods or lifetimes when the goal is to learn other things, not spirituality if you choose to go through a spiritual journey.
You must come to the realisation that we are all equal regardless of race, age, status or any other factor that can be used to discriminate.
Plus, you better believe some spiritual badasses who have been documented throughout history, from generations past, who are incarnated to learn what it is to be sleeping after reaching and living in the peaks of enlightenment.
So although they may have been able to grasp big concepts like universal love, they may not have learned the lessons of personal- love and are here to learn that now.
No level of love or existence is better than the other, just different; every human, creature and object is embraced by a vibrant energy field, which is also known as an aura. This aura is made of luminous and colourful material, surrounding us like an invisible and ethereal body.
Carrying your own and other people’s dark energy in your aura acts like a thick fog, and can block you from your inner voice, intuitive and Divine guidance.
Staying in a balanced energetic vibration is essential for maintaining a clear psychic connection and your spiritual rebirth, yet know it’s impossible to be positive all the time.
Especially if your going through a dark night of a soul, the ending of a relationship or working through your emotional, psychological and spiritual issues and feel down, being aware that you are low in energy can stop you from overreacting if your wounds are triggered.
You can still be depressed but happy as you learn to detach from your emotions. This doesn’t mean acknowledging them; it simply means not allowing your own or other people’s feelings or toxic environments to affect your thoughts and actions.
Practising self-reflection, acceptance and awareness can help you achieve this, but it will take time, and you will always fall back into old patterns for a while as you learn to integrate your new perspectives into your daily life.
By concentrating on your own goals and feelings rather than being influenced by the energy of others, you can effectively manage your energy signature.
When you struggle to connect with your intuition, taking some time for yourself might be helpful., Spend time in nature or by candlelight, setting the intention to be centred on your own energy and think with more clarity.
This will help you reconnect with the source of all wisdom, love and light, allowing you to tap into your intuitive or psychic abilities more efficiently.
As a result of your spiritual practice, you’ll gain a strong feeling of self-awareness, training yourself to change energy-draining behaviours to be in alignment with who you really are, and this deeper understanding of yourself and the world around you
You’ll lose old habits and interests but gain new ones.
It is important to remember also not to try and force your spiritual knowledge and wishes on others, especially those who are still living in self-destructive ways and wish to impart your newly found or ever-expanding spiritual knowledge to them.
From the spiritual newbie to those who have been on the path for decades or lifetimes, we can all fall into this trap; after all, it’s only natural to want to stop others suffering.
Once you start to work through your own, you will have to remember that everyone progresses at their own pace, so don’t be discouraged if you keep meeting people not on your path; see these tests of your unconditional love and forgiveness.
This doesn’t mean being gullible and having others walk over you; it means for you not to play into the trap of getting mad at them or the universe for sending these e people your way.
Instead, see it as a blessing or a chance to practice empathy and to test how well we can stay in our energy signature, which should be based on positive emotions such as love, compassion
Still, do not let them cross your boundaries, and learn to help them in healthy ways, which will be keeping your distance at times
We all get the spiritual giddies -toxic positivity and go through the eager beaver stage wanting the world and the people in it to change immediately.
The sooner you grow out of this illusion, the better it is for your emotional, psychological and spiritual health in the long term.
Many people feel angry and sad when they see the world as it is. It’s a complex reality to accept, but it’s also important to understand that we can’t change everything overnight.
You quickly realize that YOU are not a miracle worker – other people need to take action first before things can change. This feeling of helplessness can lead to periods of sadness and dejection-sadness- apathy.
Instead, we must focus on helping others find their way home in healthy and non-demanding ways; this may be done by sharing our own experiences and insights or just being there for them in whatever way possible.
In these moments, it can be tough because doing anything seems like a waste of energy when so many people are struggling alone, rejecting your help or escaping into intoxicating substances.
It can be hard to see those who are walking the spiritual path alongside you fall back into toxic habits, especially when you are in a good place on your awakening journey.
But if you are honest with yourself, you will often come off and on the path and fall back into old habits because the spiritual awakening path is hard and scary.
It is also life-changing and alienating because you feel cut from the world around and within you, and sometimes in these moments, we don’t want to meditate and chill; we prefer to Netflix and chill.
As human beings, we do wrong or the most emotionally painful thing because these can deliver the instant highs and thrills we can come to love.
At times the answers are as simple as that. No need not be a big explanation, yet we must find balance on the path to avoid the spiritual ego, which ill talk about next.
So as you battle with the spiritual ego of wanting you and everyone else to be enlightened and have balanced energy signatures. Know that each person may have to reach rock bottom several times, across many lifetimes, to really wake up, yet each day and lifetime is a step to enlightenment.
Remember that we all are here to learn different things; it is not about trying to enforce change in the world; it’s about changing yourself, and the only way to lead and bring about transformation in the world is by example.
After all, how can spiritual awakening be valid if it’s just words and not practice?
Have compassion for yourself and others as you give up on the mass collective awakening dreams and the other non-truths we are often sold on this awakening journey.
As we get used to letting go of the things and opinions, we were made to believe in at one stage in our journey or the next.
Yet these experiences happen can become more open-minded and discerning, testing our ability to think critically and question beliefs that can leave us stuck in self-destructive thoughts, behaviours and relationships.
It can be easy to be disheartened when assessing your energetic signature and finding yourself surrounded by negativity.
But don’t forget, with a bit of openness, hard work and understanding, you can start recognising these patterns and vibrations in your life.
Taking the time to understand, balance and manage your energetic signature can be a powerful and rewarding experience – it can help to bring more clarity and self-awareness to your life journey.
By teaching yourself about energetic signatures, you can start to comprehend why certain events are happening in your life, good or bad.
It can also help to manifest positive outcomes and open up new possibilities. So, don’t get discouraged – instead, take a deep breath and start exploring the many wonders of your energetic signature.
Phase Thirteen. The spiritual ego and narcissism
I mentioned the spiritual ego earlier; the spiritual path is a way of life, not a destination or badge of honour. It’s a journey of building balance in all areas of your life.
Practising Self-awareness and using your intuition and inner voices. Critical thinking and deductive-logical reasoning skills are how you will manage and overcome this stage of your spiritual journey.
You will have to become an expert at watching yourself as if you were an outside observer of yourself, with clarity and self-compassion, forgiveness, love and without judgement.
Keeping an open mind and being willing to transform your thoughts and action when needed and you will need to.
Don’t think you can escape the spiritual ego, and you will be tested on how you deal with it each time it comes up, and you are never to advance in your journey to fall into the spiritual ego.
Focusing on spiritual awakening and enlightenment can be a double-edged sword, as we all succumb to using spiritual techniques to reinforce and bolster our egocentricity; this can happen consciously and subconsciously.
Your spiritual practice is meant to reduce your self-importance, which is overestimating one’s worth and significance and not increasing it.
This can happen to those who were empathetic and loving before starting their journey; no one is exempt from spiritual ego.
You must not confuse self-importance with self-love, respect and acceptance, as it is essential to have self-esteem.
Yet if your spiritual practice causes you to lack empathy for others and their struggles and ignore your negative behaviours and the practicalities of daily life, then you have fallen into “Spiritual ego”-centrism.
The spiritual can also be a defence mechanism against criticism, to make a positive impression on others, or to enhance one’s sense of self-worth.
The Spiritual ego develops by becoming overly self-focused on pursuing spiritual enlightenment, understanding, or finding purpose.
You can believe that you are superior because of your spiritual knowledge and experiences or thinking that you are better than those who have not yet achieved the same level of growth.
Coming to believe you deserve special treatment because of your spiritual insight is one of the biggest pitfalls of the spiritual awakening journey.
Also, the spiritual ego can be strengthened because you may internally feel pain but feel you cannot express this because of how those in your spiritual community, your friends or family may judge you.
For instance, people may rely on you as the strong one who is always optimistic and always picks others up when they are down, so you may think it’s a sign of weakness or an indication of your lack of spiritual awareness to show your feelings.
Most people start their spiritual path as a result of dark night of a soul or from a perspective of wanting to feel better after a negative experience like a relationship breakup.
We often are drowning in negative thoughts and emotions when we start our awakening journeys, and most of us are promised or feel that we will develop more uplifting emotions and find a better life.
If you commit to a spiritual path and start using spiritual tools like self-reflection, awareness, the law of attraction, manifestation, angel numbers, crystals, mindfulness, and tarot/
Beginning to walk a path of love and light as you seek enlightenment as a way out of your dark emotions.
As you learn new concepts and practise things like meditation and yoga, you can begin to fear anything which we feel is dark, even your own shadow, and what you ignore becomes stronger, especially psychological and emotional trauma.
As I have already established in this piece, it can be challenging, nor is it necessary to be spiritual all the time and face the emotions you have buried for decades.
The primary goal of life is to become a balanced whole- integrated being, not to be perfect because perfection is an illusion, but to learn to find equilibrium between all your desires and needs.
The spiritual ego is nothing to be ashamed of, it is a rite of passage, but still, it must be understood and managed.
Connecting the mind with the body and your soul- higher consciousness, mixing the material with the ethereal, awakening your spiritual side is part of this; it is not the be-all and end-all of life or spirituality.
It can be tough to feel spiritual all the time, especially when people around you don’t seem to share your belief in the existence of a higher power and the general chaos that happens in our world.
It’s natural to get wrapped up in your spiritual ego, especially when you notice how accurate tarot readings can be, the insights of astrology and numerology or the revelations of meditation.
It is easy to think that this makes you unique; after all, you may develop abilities most people have not grown yet, yet all people can develop spiritual talents if they wish.
And even if you do have more significant insights than others, this doesn’t mean this knowledge should be used to abuse or invalidate them.
Being spiritual doesn’t mean you’re better than anyone else, as explained earlier; not to disrespect or anything, but the great spiritual teachers who are now no longer on the earth plane.
They could now be in their next lives, where they have reincarnated to learn to be thieves, liars, prostitutes, tyrants, or anyone else deemed immoral and undesirable.
All life experiences can teach us something, no matter how taboo they may be.
In fact, it is in my lowest and darkest moments that I have gotten the most insight into my own psychological and emotional states, which has helped me understand why toxic behaviours prevail in our world.
It is easy to believe that you are unique and other people are the walking dead or sheeple.
This is a commonly used phrase used by those who think they are better because they are walking a spiritual path, and I admit I, too, have used it very early on in my path.
Yet, all these thoughts and all others that create a semblance-apprerance of separation and judgement are part of the spiritual ego phase of the awakening journey.
So as I said, we all go through spiritual ego, and most of us are on the path, due to our use of tools such as self-reflection or awareness.
Tend to spot our ego or are open to guidance when it is pointed out to us by others, and we do all we can to address and transform the thoughts and behaviours that are produced by our spiritual ego.
However, some on the path are adamant that they don’t need to change even when their own inner guidance or the divine consciousness points it out to them.
If you develop a spiritual community of people that all look up to you, it can be hard to let that go or admit that some of the things you have said or taught are wrong.
Still, as we walk our path, we must develop the humility to admit when we are wrong, but spiritual narcissists refuse to do this even when external and inward sources repeatedly tell them to change.
I mentioned a few phases back the book glamour by Alice Bailey. I am so glad I discovered this book early on in my path because I could not stop myself from falling into a spiritual ego.
I was aware when doing it, even if I found it hard to accept. But as my path has always been one of calling myself out on my bullcrap, I had no choice but to accept that the spiritual ego was present, and I had to change my behaviours.
Self-awareness, as long side deductive logical reasoning and critical thinking, are priceless tools for detecting and transforming the spiritual ego, and I urge you to develop them.
Because all this spiritual seeking can make us all a bit loony-tunes- crazy at times, and that’s ok.
The trick is to become a master of spotting your divine or madness, as Caroline Myss would say and have the discernment to spot and unlearn your spiritual ego, and you will be tested on this many times, especially when you think you over it.
Divine- spiritual-madness- ego, which has been referred to as theia mania and sagacious insanity, is associated with unconventional, extravagant, unforeseen, or capricious conduct.
In relation to spiritual development, and has been spotted in many teachers from all spiritual and religious disciplines throughout history.
So you can see it is not a modern phenomenon but an intrinsic and expected part of spiritual seeking; nevertheless, it is important to train yourself to be aware of your thoughts and action at any given moment.
Because our words and thoughts can make us believe we are compassionate and understanding to ourselves and others.
But our actions never lie, so it is vital to watch and refine your behaviours daily, staying alert so you don’t grow too long for your bed, as Og Mandino would say.
Meaning you never think you are better than others or know it all; these are big red flags on the spiritual journey; you mustn’t seek praise or worship because of the gifts you have been developed or divinely opened to.
Of all the ego types, the spiritual ego is the most harmful because, as I said, it is hard to discern and see it for what it is; it can always excuse itself, making it dangerous.
The spiritual ego convinces you that your thoughts, feelings and behaviours are better than anyone else’s. It tells you that you are in control, no matter the reality.
This is where things can get really dangerous – because when everything revolves around self-importance and feeling superior to others, it’s easy to lose sight of who is truly important in your life.
If left unchecked, the spiritual ego will eat away at your relationships with friends and family and your sense of confidence and self-worth. In extreme cases, it can lead to full-blown narcissism, which I will talk about shortly.
The spiritual ego is a sneaky enemy that can be incredibly hard to defeat – especially if you don’t build and use self-awareness, self-reflection, critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills.
But if you really want to be spiritually awakened, you will have to understand, forgive, heal and manage your spiritual ego if you want a healthy, balanced and fulfilling life.
As we journey through the spiritual stages, the ego or spiritual identity will take over
- Accept you have a spiritual ego and know you cannot completely get rid of your spiritual or normal ego; it is about managing it; your ego – lower self is just as essential as your higher self.
Attempting to extinguish this part of our spiritual being is a futile struggle. To pretend the spiritual ego is not there or to try to deny it is a waste of energy; instead, it’s best to understand and manage it.
Many spiritual paths believe they have to be perfect – spiritually, mentally, and emotionally – but this is the beginning of the slippery slope of an overinflated ego and spiritual superiority.
And you must factor in fun, whatever that is for you, even if it’s the occasional Netflix and chill.
We are human; we all @@ck up. Instead of striving for unattainable ‘enlightenment’, embrace your humanity – for it can be powerful.
Don’t let pride get in the way of self-awareness; if you ignore your faults, you could be courting destruction.
Oh yeah, never be afraid to call yourself out on your own bullcrap
- Practice vigilance and be constantly mindful of your thoughts and behaviours; this may require some Self-discipline, but it is worth it to develop clarity of mind.
Recognise when the spiritual ego is sucking you in – because it will try to disguise itself in different ways, it might not look exactly like what we usually think of as an ego. As you see above, it can disguise itself as coming from a spiritual perspective and hide in spiritual concepts and jargon.
When trying to identify whether or not you’re caught up in the spiritual ego, be aware of how you’re thinking and feeling.
Are your thoughts and feelings centred around yourself? Or are you considering others too?
Is your behaviour positive or negative towards others because of who they are rather than what they do or say?
The goal of the spiritual path is to stay centred on yourself and your spiritual practice treating all with compassion regardless of who they are and what they do.
Sure, if they refuse to accept your boundaries repeatedly, you will have to distance yourself from them; still, you can do this respectfully.
- Forget trying to be perfect; Spirituality has often been depicted as a journey to perfection, purity, and peacefulness. We constantly strive to be the best versions of ourselves and abide by all the spiritual rules, believing that means never making a mistake or exhibiting any negative behaviour.
But this idealised version of spirituality is not only impossible to achieve, but it’s also an unhealthy goal. Instead of trying to achieve perfection, focus on recognizing and embracing your unique traits, including your shadow sides.
Doing this will allow you to live a more authentic spiritual life and to be kind and gentle with yourself as you make mistakes.
To be truly spiritual is to accept that we are all imperfect and have flaws and to strive for progress while doing all we can to manage your spiritual ego.
Don’t let the quest for perfection become a source of distress and disempowerment. Make sure to define your values and strive to live by them; however, don’t forget to recognize and honour your limitations, there is no need to feel bad or mad about who you are.
Take it slow, and learn to cherish and appreciate who you are. When you can do that, it’ll be simpler to accept the flaws in the people around you, which will stop you from falling into spiritual narcissism.
You won’t think you’re above them because you will be accepting of your own mistakes – you’ll be understanding and compassionate to other people’s flaws.
Be kind to yourself – even when you’re wrong, treating yourself respectfully is essential.
Remember that nobody can be perfect, and that’s fine as you uncover your spiritual egotistical behaviours and thoughts.
Take your time to change them, and do not beat yourself up; we all fall into spiritual ego as we walk our path.
After all, we all have a lower self, and the lower self loves to fulfil its desires at all costs, but as you walk your path, do all you can to tame that ego.
- Take time to nurture your ego; after all, it is the reason why we keep moving forward; our ego is often a driving force in our lives, pushing us to strive for something greater than ourselves,
It inspires us to try new things and surpass our limitations. It can be a great motivator and open doors to experiences and opportunities we may have never had if we had stayed within our comfort zone.
It is essential to recognise and manage your ego and use it to your advantage, not your disadvantage.
The ego is only harmful if we neglect our own authentic needs and the wishes of others to partake in the self-destructive behaviours of the unmanaged lower self.
In today’s world, the ego mainly becomes weak, toxic and resentful
Rather than being an inner source of strength, it can become a personal limitation.
Because we try to meet the expectations of our family, societies, and friends rather than asking ourselves what it is we want from life and going for it.
Giving up on seeking external recognition and approval and getting our validation internally.
This is the same for the spiritual path; the spiritual ego is only toxic because we are trying to live up to the standards of gurus, spiritual teachings and those who we see as more spiritually advanced than us.
Still, the real purpose of spirituality is to allow yourself to make an authentic connection with the divine consciousness and your higher self, which will show you the true spiritual and life path.
Existing spiritual concepts are a benchmark; they can lead us to the water, but they can’t make us drink it, meaning they can show us the way to our higher path, but they are not our higher path.
Our self-confidence is integral to our growth and development, encouraging us to reach our full potential.
Developing an intentional and empowering approach to your normal ego can stop the spiritual ego from looking for praise outside itself.
Rather than pursuing objectives based on external expectations, opt for pursuits that truly ignite your passions.
Find your happy place outside of your spiritual practice –
This could be a hobby, an activity or something you love to do.
Once you’ve found your happy place, daily remind yourself of it and take some time for self-care. This will help keep the spiritual ego at bay and allow you to focus on more important things in life.
By choosing to focus on empowering your self-esteem, you will cultivate a sense of self-worth that does not require you to feel superior to those around you.
This will grant you increased openness to different perspectives, allowing you to more easily appreciate the views of others.
- Keep an open mind and be willing to let go of old beliefs; clinging to old ideas can be problematic depending on the security and comfort they provide.
Many of us find our favourite spiritual tools and teachers when we are at our lowest point, so it can be hard to give up our beliefs and practices.
Yet not doing so can stunt your overall growth in all areas of your life spiritually, emotionally, spiritually and financially.
It is crucial to periodically question and expand your beliefs to prevent yourself from staying in a spiritual ego and developing spiritual narcissism.
Remember that the concept of a “universal truth” is an illusion. In reality, the true nature of the cosmos is something we can never really understand.
Even the most comprehensive knowledge we may attain is only a tiny fraction of the greater whole as we go through the phases of spiritual awakening.
Taking note of all the beliefs we are made to believe by our guides or higher self, only for us to have to discard them to move to another level of consciousness, they are infinite layers to consciousness.
- It is also vital to have non-spiritual friends and avoid pretentious spiritual cliques because when we’re stuck in our own little world, surrounded by those who share that worldview and believe in that knowledge as truth – no matter how flawed or false it may be – it’s challenging to open up to new ideas or perspectives.
You can fall into the trap of only keeping those who agree with you around because you can become defensive against anyone who challenges or disagrees with us.
This only reinforces our spiritual ego and deepens our suffering, which is another way spiritual narcissism can happen.
In the face of the unknown, it can be easy to cling to our existing knowledge and defend our viewpoints.
However, this can lead to a desire to impose our perspective on others and diminish the value of their opinion; this can create an unpleasant environment and push others away from us.
To avoid these negative outcomes, it’s important to remember that all opinions are valid – no matter how different they may seem.
When we’re open-minded enough to accept other people’s perspectives, we’ll be able not only to learn more about the topic at hand and build better relationships in the process.
You don’t have to be everyone’s BFF still; you shouldn’t make others feel alienated or alienate your higher selves’ need for continuous growth either.
Rather than trying to justify your position, maintain your inquisitiveness. Explore what you can learn from the people around you.
Everyone has something to offer if you simply take the time to listen. Keep an open attitude and strive to expand your knowledge rather than insisting on its validity.
To sum up
During the spiritual ego phases, they will be many, its all good,
its best to focus on building self-awareness and integrate the lower and higher selves, realising we are all equal regardless of how much we do or don’t know.
Come to view the shadow aspects of yourself with compassion, embracing all parts of yourself, even those you aren’t so proud of.
When you can access these darker emotions and feelings without judgment or self-doubt, it becomes much easier for them to surface occasionally and not to have as much power over you.
When they come up, remember that they are just energy sensations – like gusts of wind – and don’t get pulled into their depths by fear or anxiety.
You’ll find that your perspective changes radically when you approach situations this way; instead of feeling overwhelmed by everything happening in your life
You begin feeling more empowered because you know how To handle challenging situations, even your own spiritual ego and the effects of glamour effectively.
As you learn to manage your spiritual ego, you will start to grow closer to your true nature and the Divine within you.
The key is to let go of anything that doesn’t serve your higher purpose or feels limiting in some way.
As the spiritual ego becomes weaker and more transparent, the spiritual journey will become easier and more fulfilling.
So what is spiritual narcissism?
Now we have dealt with the spiritual ego; we will talk about spiritual narcissism, which happens if you are not prepared to admit or manage your spiritual ego.
It is essential to protect yourself from becoming a spiritual narcissist as you walk your path and protect yourself from falling under the spell of one.
Narcissism is a psychological illness that causes a person to have an exaggerated sense of self-importance (among other things).
Spiritual narcissists face the identical issue and are confident in their own enlightened perspective, unique spiritual accomplishments, and understanding that they can’t relate to (or endure) others, especially those who disagree with them and think they have all the answers.
And they will often criticise others or devalue them; devaluing is a common technique used by traditional and spiritual narcissists who tend to attack you if you dare to question them or their practices.
They will often project your criticism of them back on you, which can leave you doubting yourself like crazy, and you can start to wonder if you’re insane and they are the sane ones.
Spiritual narcissists are keen to take charge, believing themselves to be higher than all others by virtue of their spiritual aptitude. They can be captivating, and their place of power makes them able to deceive and exploit the gullible.
They can be a spiritual opportunist who misuses faith and spirituality to gain a narcissistic supply from others; they can be your mom, dad, sister, cousin, brother, son, daughter, coworker, boss, love, guru, or spiritual mentor.
Although they may think they are empathetic and others may see them this way, they are often lost in the many layers of spiritual bypassing; spiritual narcissists often struggle to build meaningful and lasting relationships with others.
And use spiritual tools such as meditation, knowledge, and practice to justify their delusions and inflated ego, which they will deny.
The ego can be slippery, especially a spiritual one; seeing and admitting your shadow can be challenging, but once you do, acknowledge your wrongs and know this is a habit that can affect you on all levels of awakening.
So it’s best to stay alert to your spiritual ego before it turns into spiritual narcissism, which is not impossible but can be tricky to change.
Because people who are spiritual narcissists can often build their whole lifestyle around who they think they are, and people may have come to admire them, which can be challenging for them to give up.
- When something goes wrong in a relationship for a spiritual narcissist, it’s almost like their world has ended; when confronted by conflict or misfortune in another person’s life. No matter how small – the spiritual narcissist will usually react with anger and frustration rather than warmth and understanding.
- Because they believe they are unique and may understand things that others don’t, thinking they are superior and ignoring or disregarding other people’s ideas. This can lead to problems and relationship conflict because the spiritual narcissist won’t take other people into account. They will be frustrated and angry with them rather than empathising with or supporting them.
- Spiritual narcissists have a distorted, damaging take on spiritual teachings and faith and an exaggerated sense of their own importance.
They take advantage of their authority and power to hurt others spiritually. An example of this might be when a narcissistic spiritual leader utilizes divine knowledge to manipulate and degrade you instead of enlightening and motivating you.
- The spiritual narcissist habit hijacks conversations, thinking their knowledge trumps everything else. They will often barge into your confidential conversations, pushing their authority and proficiency to take control. Pretending they are there to “help” or “back you up”, but they simply love to hear themselves talk.
If you confront the spiritual narcissist for their conduct, they may resort to gaslighting in an effort to reduce your emotional reaction, denying its significance and implying that your views and emotions are irrelevant.
They might even think and act like they have been wronged and accuse you of being unappreciative.
- When you turn to them for counsel, a source of comfort and solace, expecting sympathy, compassion, and faithfulness, spiritual narcissists, they lack the capacity to truly listen and provide real assistance. Rather, they take pleasure in being
in the spotlight, so they often come off as brash and opinionated.
- Spiritual Narcissists dislike accepting responsibility for their words or actions and instead blame their missteps on those around them.
This creates an atmosphere of guilt and removes accountability from the equation, leaving a wake of hurt feelings and resentment in its place.
- Contrary to the ideals of do not harm others, mercy, forgiveness, and compassion, they are at the core of all spiritual teachings.
Spiritual narcissists are prone to pass judgement and criticize others, and they take pleasure in making others feel small to perpetuate their sense of grandeur. Consequently, spiritual narcissists often seize opportunities to chastise others for their perceived shortcomings.
- No matter how hard you try to please the spiritual narcissist, they will always find something to criticize and judge you for. This can leave you feeling quite inadequate and wanting to prove yourself, but this is a futile endeavour – they will never be truly satisfied.
- A narcissistic spiritual lover might use their divine discernment and power to try and convince you that you two are meant to be together through a process of love-bombing. The intention is to make you feel indebted to them by persuading you that you owe them something in return for their affection.
Using their profound spiritual knowledge and influence, they may attempt to manipulate your perception of reality, causing you to feel uncertain, confused, and deflated—ultimately eroding your sense of self.

Phase Fourteen. You live life more authentically
Being true to yourself is key to achieving happiness. It’s difficult, if not impossible, to always live up to this ideal, but it’s important not to lose sight of who you are or why you matter. When we’re true to ourselves, we feel content and happy.
Being authentic means living your life following your deepest beliefs and values. In short, your thoughts, words and actions are all aligned.
Self-reflection can help you identify and prioritise your core values and beliefs. From these, you must pursue goals and ambitions that reflect your ideals.
Once you have identified your values, you should adhere to them personally and professionally.
Boldly standing by who you are, remaining steadfast and courageous by the opinions of others, and never sacrificing the core of your being to please those around them.
This definition helps us understand what it means to be yourself. It can be difficult, if not impossible, to always live up to this ideal, but it’s important not to lose sight of who you are or why you matter.
When you begin to live your life more authentically, changes in your life are inevitable. You start to see things more clearly and understand what is truly important in life.
Your path and destiny become more evident, and you attract positive experiences and ideas into your life.
This shift can be temporary or long-term, but it always leads to greater happiness, peace, plenty, and fulfilment. There’s no one right way to live your life, but there are many things you can do to start living authentically.
Here are six tips for starting a new lifestyle of authenticity:
- Start by admitting that you have flaws and limitations. Everyone has them, no matter how confident they may seem on the surface. This is a difficult step, but it’s essential if you want to be true to yourself and build a strong foundation for lasting happiness.
- Believe in yourself first and foremost. Don’t put others or external expectations before your own needs and desires. If you do this, you’ll be able to trust your intuition and instincts more easily.
- Clarify your values and goals in life. What is really important to you? Do what feels right for yourself, even if it contradicts or goes against the expectations of others.
- Live spontaneously without fearing the consequences first. Don’t overthink things; just go with the flow and see where things take you. This approach can lead to a lot of fun, excitement, and new experiences!
- Give 110% effort 100% of the time. ok, well, yano, this one is not always doable; just do the best you can at any given time; as yano, sometimes you will feel more drained than others. Recognize that there are no perfect solutions, and don’t expect things always to go your way. This attitude will help you learn from your mistakes and progress in the right direction.
- laugh often – it’s one of the best medicines! Laughter is essential to a happy and healthy life, so make sure to enjoy yourself when possible by cracking jokes, singing along to songs, or watching funny movies. There’s no one right way to live your life, but these tips can help you start living authentically.
When we’re true to ourselves, ‘we often find that our lives fall into a more fulfilling pattern and that everything starts feeling better sooner than later.
Becoming more authentic doesn’t happen overnight – it takes time and effort over a period of weeks or months – but the rewards are worth it!
Phase Fifteen. You become more grounded and committed.
As you work your spiritual path, you will become more committed and grounded in it; the more you practice your path, the stronger your connection will be to your spiritual development.
Spiritual commitment is a sign of true faith and dedication, which can be seen in the deepest levels of your being. It is measured not only by what you say but also by how you live your life.
Your attitude and behaviour are reflections of the strength of your spiritual commitment.
It can be seen in how we interact with other people, in our decisions, and in how we treat ourselves and those around us.
It manifests itself in the way we approach life’s challenges and how we seek out solutions to problems.
A deep spiritual commitment is integral to personal growth and development, as it guides us along our path and encourages us to stay true to our authentic selves.
As you continue your spiritual transformation, it is essential to deepen your commitment to your path; grounding yourself is crucial to staying centred and balanced.
Grounding means connecting with the physical world in a more profound way.
This can be done by clearing, understanding and managing any negative energy and unresolved psychological, emotional and spiritual trauma, attracting more balanced and positive energies into thoughts, behaviours and ways of relating to yourself and others.
When you’re grounded, you feel confident and sure of yourself, allowing you to take action based on your beliefs rather than being swayed by others’ opinions or expectations.
Building and using self-awareness, critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills, you will tap into a deep sense of stability and equilibrium, and matter the chaos that swirls around you.
Being rooted in your truth allows you to make decisions confidently and objectively, no matter the situation.
Remember, you don’t have to be positive 24/7, as doing this will also lead to imbalance; still, you must try and remain optimistic about your ability to make progress if you take daily steps to work towards your spiritual awakening.
When you’re grounded, you allow yourself to feel your body sensations and the environment around you at any given moment.
This allows you to stay in control, no matter what’s happening around you.
There are many ways to ground yourself: breathing consciously, spending time in nature, or doing simple exercises focusing on your body and breath.
By dropping yourself regularly, you can help maintain a healthy balance in your life
As you continue on your spiritual path, you will get more serious about your spiritual grounding and commitment; you will allow yourself to open up to the Universe and its magic.
This involves understanding and implementing the principles of spirituality, but it’s not just about learning; it’s also about being committed to practically applying knowledge to improve your life.
In this stage, you’re no longer playing with your spiritual toys and ideas; you get serious about picking the right tools and strategies for you and starting to practice what you have learned to turn your knowledge into living wisdom.
As always, it is up to each individual to decide how quickly they want to learn these lessons and reach their fullest potential. There is no right or wrong answer – only what works best for them.
First and foremost, it is essential to clear out any repetitive soul patterns- behaviours and thoughts you have gathered over your lifetimes, plus any karmic debts you have accumulated.
This includes anything from negative emotions like anger and resentment to misaligned goals and unhealthy relationships.
Clearing out these toxic energies will be a significant step in your awakening journey.
And again, don’t get stressy about releasing your toxic relationships, thoughts and behaviour patterns or see it as a badge of honour, or you will fall into spiritual bypassing or narcissism.
Secondly, although everyone’s path is different, all individuals work together towards a common goal – enlightenment.
This means that no one’s journey is better or worse than another person’s – we are all one in this process!
Thirdly, you become aware that the universe is always helping you attain enlightenment, but it is your choice how fast you want to learn the lessons being taught.
Some people might feel like they are being forced to learn these concepts quickly, while others might choose to assimilate them slowly into their lives over time.
Fourthly, you will become more aware that all is connected, that each of your previous thought and action creates the next, so you choose them more wisely.
Once you understand the interconnectedness of all things on a deeper level, it opens up many opportunities for growth and self-awareness.
Claim your space by understanding, healing and managing your negative energy and behaviours, and do all you can to attract positive emotions, relationships and experiences in your space.
Additionally, focus on following your spiritual practice and goals closely, stay positive, and stay the course!
Yet know it’s a journey, not a race, and take time out to have fun, to avoid getting obsessive about your awakening journey.
You become less reliant on external tools, such as tarot, to make you feel secure; this doesn’t mean you will give them up altogether.
You will come to rely on and trust in your inner connection to the divine, your higher self, inner voices and intuition more, trusting them to guide you to all you need.
Grounding helps you stay focused and in control, which is especially important when things are chaotic. When your emotions are kept in check, you can make better decisions. There are many ways to be grounded.
This sense of balance and inner peace is often difficult to find, but it’s essential for living a happy and healthy life.
These are something that can help you get grounded in yourself
– Connect with the physical world around you by feeling your body energetically. Touch yourself wherever feels good – your face, neck, chest, belly button… Pay attention to how each area feels different when energized or relaxed.
– Connect with nature either through direct contact (e.g., touching trees), sounds (e.g., listening to birds or flowing water), or smells ( e.g., taking a deep breath of fresh air).
– Spend time in silent meditation or prayer journaling, where you focus solely on your thoughts and feelings without escaping into other activities or conversations.
This will help ground yourself in more profound levels of consciousness so that self-awareness becomes more pronounced and calming waves of energy can flow more efficiently throughout your entire being.
When you’re grounded, you allow yourself to feel centred and balanced.
When this happens, your natural energy is restored, and you can focus more easily on the things that matter most – like your own thoughts, feelings and emotions.
Phases sixteen. You start to feel more content and appreciate having gratitude for the little things.
Lots of research across all disciplines have found that expressing thankfulness and having gratitude is closely and continually linked with an increase in joyfulness.
Gratitude encourages individuals to experience more positive emotions, savour delightful experiences, enhance their well-being, handle adversity, and establish strong relationships.
Gratitude is an attitude that can be as powerful as the sun; its warming and healing beams can improve mood, focus, concentration, and motivation.
It can fuel creativity, manifest abundance, and open hearts to love. Gratitude can bring new clarity to one’s life, helping to foster better relationships.
Reinvigorate your energy levels when you feel down or are going through a hard time on your spiritual path, and generate an outlook of hope even when times are hard.
When we’re grateful, our emotions tend to be more positive. This can lead to happiness, contentment, and even relief.
Gratitude also has a tendency to spread good vibes throughout our lives – it makes us more compassionate and cooperative towards others.
There are many ways we can practice gratitude every day.
A straightforward way is to write down five – 10n things you’re thankful for every morning or night before bed. Consider one thing you’re grateful for (for example, your family’s health, your well-being, your socks, shoes, books, pen, wifi, mobile data or the sunshine).
When you really start practising gratitude, you will see there are many things in your life you could be grateful for; remember, the spiritual life is about cultivating a positive mindset within, and this doesn’t mean ignoring negative emotions.
It means finding the right and healthy expression for them; it is perfectly natural to feel anger, yet to be angry for years over the same thing, is determential to your health.
This is why it is encouraged to consistently manage your emotions and psychological and spiritual health in your ethereal awakening journey.
Try taking some moments of silence every day to mentally acknowledge all the good in your life – no matter how small it may seem at first.
By incorporating these simple techniques into your daily routine, you’ll be on your way to manifesting greater gratitude in both yourself and the world around you!
As you practice gratitude, you will gain more contentment, which is one of the essential ingredients to leading a happy life and as you walk your path, you will begin to feel more content with yourself and life.
Instead, your self-validation, happiness, empathy, love and an abundance of other emotions that keep you uplifted will come from within.
When you begin to appreciate what you have in life, it becomes much easier to stay on track and continue working towards your goals.
Appreciating all you have allows you to live a more meaningful life; gratitude can also be a powerful tool for managing stress.
When we’re grateful for the good things in our lives, it helps to reduce anger and resentment, which can lead to negative thoughts and behaviour.
It also leads us to take action in favour of what’s good—such as helping others, doing volunteer work, or making financial contributions.
Gratitude also helps us resist temptation by making us feel happier and less clingy.
Overall, gratitude is a necessary mindset to have in order to live a happier and more fulfilling life.
It can help us stay centred during tough times, eliminate negative thoughts and emotions, and lead us to take positive action and feel happier, and it’s not just for the momentary happiness that gratitude often provides.
Research shows that grateful people are healthier overall, live longer lives with fewer illnesses and experience lower levels of stress than those who aren’t Grateful.
Phases Seventeen. You start telling the world about your beliefs in healthy and non-judgmental ways.
At first, you may be more secretive about your spiritual journey.
Because people may think you have lost your mind, but as you train yourself to care less about others, you will become more confident about yourself and your beliefs.
As you get deeper into your spiritual journey, you will soon learn how to balance your physical and spiritual needs.
It’s essential to be open and honest about your experiences with others.
This can be a difficult stage, but don’t let the embarrassment, fear, guilt or shame stop you from moving forward in speaking and living your truth.
In the beginning, you may find it difficult to openly share your beliefs without being judgmental and wanting everyone to feel as you do now, in any given moment; as I said, many times, everyone’s journey is different.
Even if they walk the same spiritual path together, as you continue to explore and learn more about spiritual living , you will be better equipped to talk about these concepts non-judgmentally.
Over time, you will become more confident in your convictions and be able to share them with others without feeling uncomfortable, embarrassed or trying to force them to think as you do due to your spiritual ego.
You will eventually learn how to balance your physical and spiritual needs as you experience deeper healing and go through all the transformative phases of the spiritual awakening journey.
Whether it’s Yoga, Crystal healing, Tarot divination, walking barefoot, hugging trees, or listening to relaxing music like mike Rowland, You’ll become more and more comfortable speaking about your interests.
As you have seen, there are several phases you move through on your spiritual path.
Below are the three stages of sharing your authentic viewpoints that you will swing between as you transition from being a secret believer to sharing your opinions and insights in healthy and non-judgmental ways.
You may doubt the evidence you have seen or heard and remain sceptical about whether or not these changes will make a difference.
This will make you not share your spiritual knowledge with others as you don’t really believe in it for yourself or practice it consistently in your daily life.
However, as you continue to see positive results from making healthier decisions and you feel less judged by yourself for following your spiritual path, you will feel more comfortable sharing with others following them.
But you may do this in forceful, egotistical or narcissistic ways that can cause problems in your relationship
You start seeing how much better you feel when you’re eating nutritious foods, getting adequate exercise, meditation, and relaxing, rather than wasting your time on intoxicating relationships, substances and habits.
You will start to use your spiritual tools, committing more to your path and becoming more grounded.
And you realise the value of communicating genuinely with loved ones instead of hiding behind false pretences or trying to convince them to follow the path you follow and believe in the thing you do.
In this step, your spiritual ego may still be present, yet it won’t be as strong as in step one.
Instead, you try and find a middle ground and connect with them in ways they can understand, realising they will have to get and follow their inner call to change.
Still, you can help them come to their own realisations by being a living example of change.
You no longer view unhealthy behaviours as normal or acceptable, yet you don’t judge others for still partaking in them, coming to understand that this is part of their journey, nor do you really talk about your spiritual beliefs.
Instead, you embody them, yet you are willing to answer questions about your ideas to anyone who asks.
You work hard every day to promote sustainable habits throughout your life, becoming an ambassador of change who inspires others to adopt more compassionate attitudes towards themselves and the world around them through your actions, not words.
As you pass onto the mastery phase, which is the second to 3rd from the last stage of the awakening journey, remember, non of these stages are linear.
You may go through a few stages simultaneously many times on your continuous spiritual rebirth journey.
Phase Eighteen. Walking and living the talk- Mastering your spiritual growth.
Spiritual mastery requires you to go beyond the limitations of your ego. To reach higher levels of consciousness, you must understand your ego and how it influences your perception of the world. To do this, you must allow yourself to be aware of your ego and not be controlled by it.
Instead of letting your ego take the lead, you must be mindful of its behaviours and motivations, accepting them but not allowing them to dictate your decisions.
You must learn to recognize the impact of your ego on your life and find ways to manage its influence. With practice and patience, you can gain an understanding of yourself that will allow you to move beyond it and find higher levels of spiritual consciousness.
You will be tested many times in the mastery stage of many tests, especially on your deductive reasoning and critical thinking skills.
As well as your ability to understand, heal and manage your emotional, psychological and spiritual trauma and spot your negative thoughts, behaviours and ways of relating to yourself and others.
Your Self-awareness, self-compassion, kindness and service to others, your spiritual understanding and your ability to implement it and all the skills you learn along the way into your daily life.
Before achieving spiritual mastery, you also have to work on self-mastery, which is harnessing one’s willpower, having the strength to resist temptation, and disciplining oneself are all elements of self-mastery – a power we all hold within!
Achieving mastery over oneself is the power to direct your own life. It’s an opportunity to realise and comprehend your thought processes, routines, and actions.
Consequently, you have the option to decide how you exist in the world.
To get on the path to self-mastery, you must cultivate your alertness and self-awareness, although we may walk a spiritual path.
It is also essential to balance all the other areas of your life; working on your overall self-control will help you achieve spiritual mastery.
You typically go through the spiritual mastery phase each time you go through an inner conflict and denial phase as you leave one way of living spiritually to start a new spiritual practice or live by your new upgraded spiritual knowledge.
When you take the first step on your spiritual journey, it can feel like everything is crashing down.
You may be overwhelmed with confusion and feelings of helplessness., but as soon as you begin to understand how your unique skills will be used to benefit others, the pieces start connecting for you.
Suddenly, all of the knowledge and understanding that has been hidden inside you begins to blossom.
This process is gradual and takes time, but eventually, everything starts coming into focus – including your purpose in life. When this happens, the sense of emptiness disappears entirely, and a new level of fulfilment emerges.
Keynote to keep in mind always; enlightenment is an ongoing process that will never end!
You may feel overwhelmed and frustrated when you fall into old patterns, or old experiences start happening again and feel that all your previous spiritual, emotional and psychological work has been a waste of time.
You may feel like everything is going wrong in your life, but that’s not actually the case.
You’re just facing a new challenge requiring more than just brute force; in the mastery phase, you need to learn to relax and have a deep connection to the divine consciousness, your intuition, and your inner voice
As I said at the start of this in-depth guide of the many different phases of spiritual awakening- enlightenment is about self-control and management.
So, being successful is about being able to do the best thing for everyone involved over and over again.
That doesn’t mean letting anyone hurt you or take advantage of you – or hurting them it means understanding yourself better so that you can make good choices for both yourself and others.
Look beyond your own feelings right now and see where this energy is coming from – does it seem related to any suppressed memories or unresolved anger from the past?
Once you have a clear picture of what’s causing these negative emotions, it will be easier to deal with them in an intelligent way instead of emotionally reacting without thinking things through first.
Remember: enlightenment isn’t about negating our humanness; it’s about using our spiritual understanding to better manage ourselves
So welcome these spiritual tests as checkpoints in your growth as a welcome checkpoint that can protect you against living in a state of spiritual ego and bypassing.
You will have to go backwards many times to advance on your spiritual journey.
As you pass your test and listen to the call to grow more, you gain more spiritual mastery until you reach a point where you no longer have to struggle or try hard to stick to your spiritual path – it becomes second nature.
All the healthy behaviours you once adopted as part of your discovery phase become habits that are easy for you to continue and even develop further.
You stop seeing yourself as a person who is trying to live healthier lifestyles – instead, you become someone who lives healthily by default.
Many people can resist achieving spiritual mastery because it means giving up their comfort zones, and changing toxic habits and relationships can be tough.
Still, the universe may send you signs to signal that certain doors are now closed for you, like losing a job, ending friendships, and literally changing your circumstances so you may have to move city or country.
Although these signals can be painful, as we humans do not like to let go at first, as you progress spiritually, you will begin to see that working against your best interest
I hated getting out of my comfort zone, and parts of me still do, yet my higher self now has more control over my lower self; I don’t deny my urges; I just have become better at letting them out in smaller doses or healthy ways.
Still, I have a long way to go; as you move forward, you may find yourself naturally wanting to change careers or relationships to ones that are more in line.
With who you are now and who you are becoming, many people choose to work in my holistic and spiritual careers., which I will talk more about in the next phase.
Consistent practice is essential; your proficiency will only improve with significant effort. ‘Spiritual practice’ is more than just action – it requires commitment, discipline, dedication and hard work.
You will have to learn to discern-have foresight to make wise decisions.
To make the right choices, one must first be mindful of the available options and then decide deliberately – to assume the role of the discerning decision-maker.
The most profound level of discernment is to have faith in your heart and make decisions that come from a place of love instead of fear.
When you trust your intuition and ask yourself, “What would my most authentic self do?”, you will always stay true to your values.
Once you have decided to pursue Self-Mastery, dare to see it through!
The ego may try to distract you, but that only means you are close to achieving your goals. Stay focused, remain determined, and you will find success on your journey to Self-Mastery.
Once you have taken the step to embark on the path of Self-Mastery, be courageous and stay the course!
The ego may try to knock you off your path, but that only means you are on the brink of accomplishing your ambitions. Keep your focus, stay determined, and you will find fulfilment on your journey to Self-Mastery.
As you progress on this journey, practice patience in accepting what is and trusting the timing of life., Strive for truth in your words and actions, and remain honest with yourself.
Honour your commitment to self-mastery by maintaining a healthy lifestyle and purity of mind. Believe in yourself, and you will find the strength to achieve anything.
By striving to become an expert in all aspects of life, you will ultimately unlock the key to Self-Mastery, yet never forget that even in the mastery phase, most spiritual seekers struggle to maintain a healthy balance between their physical and spiritual needs.
This imbalance can lead to many problems, including emotional stress, health concerns, and lost opportunities, which are all a part of life, and you will still experience these even though you are living a more spiritual existence.
As you begin to experience deeper healing and go through the transformative phases, it becomes easier to balance your physical and spiritual needs and achieve self and spiritual mastery.
- Take time to reflect on your goals and motivations. Recognize when your ego is influencing you, and resist the temptation to let it control your decisions.
- Be patient with yourself – this is a journey that will take time and effort, but it’s important to remember that success doesn’t come easily. Persevere until you reach your goals!
- Be open to new experiences and learning – keep your mind active by engaging in stimulating activities that will challenge you and make you better equipped to reach your goals.
- Be forgiving and compassionate – egoism is a powerful force, but it’s also natural to be proud and resistant to change. So remember that you are not alone in your journey, and give yourself the support you need to reach your spiritual mastery goals.
- Know that there is help available – whether you’re looking for advice from others or seeking guidance from a spiritual figure, yet know in the end you will have to take personal responsibility for your path. Many online resources are also available to help you on your way. It can be challenging to resist the influence of our ego, but by following these tips, you can slowly gain control over its behaviours and become more spiritual.
Phase Nineteen. Wanting to give back and serve
The idea of giving and service are deeply rooted in spirituality; giving back to those in need is an embodiment of spiritual values and principles, and it is a powerful way to reach out and show love and compassion to others.
It can be as simple as volunteering your time to help those in need, or as ambitious as setting up a charitable organization. No matter how big or small the act of giving back is, it can make a significant difference in people’s lives.
The concept of giving back gives us an opportunity to improve the lives of those we are helping, and to better ourselves, as it helps us deepen our understanding of our own spiritual values and principles.
I mentioned in the mastery phase that some people merge their spiritual awakening with their career to help others as they become more spiritually aware.
People do this in many ways, from setting up a blog, healing circle, astrology or tarot business, becoming a life coach, tarot reader, astrologer, or spiritual teacher, and setting up yoga or meditation classes; they are many ways to give back.
After battling through the awakening process, you will gain clarity and understanding, leading to a gradual shift in your reality.
After dealing with the confusion and conflict phases for a while, and your personal struggles with becoming more self-aware, loving, forgiving and compassionate, you can pass these stories and insights on to those who may come to you.
As you begin to see that, great contentment can be found by helping others in healthy ways to support them in making a better life for themselves; nevertheless, it is vital to avoid going into spiritual ego and setting up cult-like practices.
When you encourage dependency on yourself or your teachings, you harm others and yourself, which goes directly against the central tenet of spirituality.
The true goal of spirituality is to become a sovereign being, responsible for your own decisions, and you must encourage this in all your help.
It would be best if you always were moving them towards taking personal responsibility for their life and their growing freedom in thought, words and actions.
There are several ways that you can start your holistic health or spiritual wellness practice:
Become certified in one or more holistic healing practices. This will give you credibility and help expand your client base; begin offering consultations (in person or online) to assist individuals in addressing specific physical or emotional issues; create and offer guided meditation sessions.
Design and sell wellness products using natural ingredients; offer workshops teaching mindfulness techniques, crystal healing methods, intuitive readings, etc.; provide massages, holistic counselling, etc.
I will now discuss how to do some of the above in more depth
- Seek out certification and education in holistic health and spiritual wellness practices. Becoming certified in an area of expertise will give you credibility with clients and allow you to expand your client base.
For example, becoming a Naturopathic Doctor or a Certified Health Coach may be beneficial. Additionally, pursuing formal education in holistic health can equip you with the knowledge necessary to offer consultations on specific physical or emotional issues (e.g., managing stress, enhancing sleep hygiene, and improving joint health).
- Build a portfolio of your work in holistic health and spiritual wellness. This includes samples of your consultations, treatments, or readings. It can also include imagery (e.g., photos) that support the messages you share about your practice or business.
- Establish yourself as an expert in your field by doing your research, training yourself and practising your craft, speaking at events, writing articles for magazines and online publications, and participating in online forums/podcasts related to holistic health and spiritual well-being practices.
In addition to building awareness about your business among potential clients, this will also help you build relationships with other professionals in the industry.
- Offer a complimentary consultation to new clients who sign up for your mailing list or make an online reservation for treatment or reading. This will allow you to demonstrate your interest in helping clients achieve their holistic health and spiritual wellness goals and establish yourself as someone they can trust.
- Make money through charging services rather than selling goods or services outright. Offering complimentary consultations, offering pre-payment discounts for treatments and readings, and setting up monthly payment plans are all ways to make money from holistic health and spiritual well-being practices without boring people with too much sales talk.
- Consider setting up a website and/or an online shop that sells products or services related to holistic health and spiritual well-being. This can include everything from books on self-care techniques to yoga mats and meditation apps.
- Offer freebies (such as complementary treatments, readings, or consultations) to customers who refer their friends or social media followers to your business. This will help you build a network of loyal fans who are happy to tell others about your services.
- Use social media to promote your business and connect with potential customers. Use Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Linkedin, Instagram, and other online platforms to share news about new products or services, invite people to complimentary consultations or readings, and answer their questions.

– take care when providing information about your business or practice (e.g., don’t post misleading claims);
– be prepared to devote a significant amount of time and energy towards developing and maintaining your business;
– monitor market conditions carefully (and make adjustments as necessary) in order to ensure that your work remains profitable. Holistic health and spiritual wellness are becoming increasingly popular, and there are many opportunities for those with the determination to pursue them.
Whatever route you decide to take, be sure to put in the extra effort and determination it takes to build a successful holistic health and spiritual well-being business.
With hard work, good marketing strategy, and dedication to providing high-quality services, you can reach your goals and create a truly enriching life for you and your clients.
Even at this stage of awakening, there will still be times when you struggle with what to do next or feel out of your depth.
This is entirely normal – Don’t ever feel like you have to do anything that feels uncomfortable or wrong to you – just know that everything will eventually make sense.
The more you explore this new part of yourself, the part of you that wants to serve and teach, the easier it will become to navigate your way forward if you make mistakes, as we all do and will.
Admit them to yourself and others rather than denying them, as this can strengthen your spiritual ego, which will be detrimental to your ongoing growth.
Phase twenty Continuous spiritual rebirth and feeling more at one with the cosmos and all within it
Spiritual rebirth is a transformative journey of self-discovery, allowing people to reconnect with the divine within. It is a journey that brings about a newfound wisdom and understanding of life, enabling them to gain insight and clarity into the world around them.
It is a journey of shedding old beliefs and societal conventions to make way for a new life and a deeper connection to the divine, your higher self, inner voice and intuition.
It is a process of self-examination, reflection, and acceptance of the divine within and ultimately leads to a sense of inner peace, contentment, and joy.
This phase happens each time you let go of one spiritual practice or philosophy and grow into another.
When you commit to walking the path of enlightenment, things will gradually become simpler – both in terms of understanding yourself and navigating life’s challenges.
But before this stage, you may have been in a state of confusion and inner struggle, and it can take many years or decades to get to this point.
Yet, now you begin to recognize your authentic identity and gain clarity, this is a profound realisation that can change your life completely.
As you become more aware of your connection to the Universe, you start to understand yourself and your place in the world much better.
We usually think of individual consciousness as “in control” or “meant for self.” It’s the type of consciousness that sees itself as separate from everything else, including others.
On the other hand, collective consciousness refers to our connection with all things – ourselves included. We are part of a more extensive system consisting of both animate and inanimate objects.
When we gain greater awareness about our individual relationship with collective consciousness, it opens many doors to knowledge about ourselves and our place in the Universe.
Once you understand how interconnected everything really is (and feels), nothing can stop you from experiencing true happiness and fulfilment!
If you are prepared to accept that feeling happy and content is an inward state of being and that true happiness can never come from external things, yet as in life-the path of spirituality is as much about suffering, uncertainty and hard work as it is fun, joy and chilling
When you decide to devote your life actions and emotions to things that make you feel alive from this point forward, you will finally start to see things in a new light.
You may experience intense feelings of joy, peace and happiness – all stemming from your newly found understanding of yourself. You’re now ready to take on the world and make a difference!
The rebirth stage is a time of tremendous growth and transformation. You’ve finally reached a point where you can see the big picture and understand the interconnectedness of all things.
Your focus now shifts to living in harmony with nature – working towards sustainable practices that protect both yourself and your environment.
You may also begin to share your knowledge and insights with others, helping them to grow in their own understanding of life.

Yes, I have had a spiritual awakening, and I see myself as continuously awakening now, I still go through a dark night of the souls and have my ups and downs, yet they are different from the ones I had when I first started.
Starting the awakening process, was one of the most profound experiences of my life, and it changed everything for me.
Before my Awakening, I was living in a state of constant fear and anxiety. Everything felt overwhelming – from daily tasks to short-term concerns about the future.
