Mars symbol is the circle of spirit, and an arrow placed at a 45-degree angle pointing to the right, ♂ the ancient symbol of mars was the Venus symbol upside down. The current mars symbol is similar to the male reproductive organs, whereas Venus is similar to the female.

The circle on both and the cross can indicate the biological female to male sexual act or any penetration using a long object( i.e. dildo) into a round hole on the human body- bringing us into modernity and all!!!

Therefore, the symbol of Mars and Venus echo the duality of life, for they represent the physical and the spiritual aspects of existence.

 The physical bringing together of two people via the sexual act, the fact that physical effort is needed to bring the ethereal into manifestation, i.e. you need to work (objective) to bring your ideas (subjective-subconscious) into material reality.

You may want to be a writer, and you may have your book vividly detailed in your mind, but to show it to others and make a living from your talent, you need to take action by typing or recording your ideas to make a book

Marc Edmund Jones, in his book astrology and how it works, pages 269-270, implies that mars is about controlling the ideas of Mercury or from the spirit- higher consciousness- intelligence realm.

Represented by Neptune-Pluto-Uranus in astrology, putting them into practical use in the materialistic- dense- logical world.

 A person must use their personal energy to work towards their goals and to bring their dreams and highest hopes into reality by taking actions to manifest their highest hopes- spiritual-lofty- goals.

To work off – transcend karma and to reach your incarnating purpose of your soul- higher purpose, which can be interpreted from your natal chart, you must assert yourself on the world.

Mars in Aries, Leo and Sagittarius can make you energetic, fiery in temperament, brave and very active, all 3 at their worse can be impetuous, ardent, overly enthusiastic,  stubborn, egotistical, and have a short fuse, sadistic and irresponsible.

Mars in Leo can be more over-the-top and controlling than the other fire signs; mars in Sagittarius can be more freedom-loving, intense, animated –lively, unrestrained, bad-mannered –vulgar and interested in sport than the other fire signs.

Mars in Aquarius or Gemini has a dual nature at times, you can be mindful of what you do and say, and others, your actions and words can create conflict in your relationships.

Mars in Aquarius and Gemini can both be a bit robot-like in their thinking and reacting, stubborn, waste their personal energy in silly confrontations due to their high strung nature, yet this affects Gemini’s more than Aquarius mars.

Mars in Libra can be more passionate in showing friendliness, influential, argumentative yet calm, and offensive than the others, but they can also be dual in nature.

Mars in Aquarius is more progressive, determined, innovative, troublesome, insubordinate and impatient than mars in Libra and Gemini.

Mars in Taurus can be determined, hard-working, realistic, and purposeful like mars in Virgo, but mars in Taurus can be tremendously pig-headed- strong-willed and sadistic at times.

Mars in Virgo can make you intrusive and fussy, causing arguments with others due to your need to find a negative in everything; you can also be emotionally irritated when things don’t go their way.

Mars in Pisces amplifies the emotional nature which interferes with your physical, emotional and psychological control mechanisms, which gives an overly emotional reaction to any perceived conflict that can cause hostility.

You can be overly sentimental and attached, but as time goes on, you may learn from experience to temper your feeling orientated reactive nature. At the extreme, you can act cowardly and run from your feelings or anything that evokes them.

Mars in Capricorn and Scorpio can bring great control over emotions, although Mars in Scorpio can be more passionate than in Capricorn.

 Great bravery can be displayed in both positions, although Mars in Scorpio can be overly sensual, unforgiving and violent at its worst.

Mars in Capricorn is more practical, ambitious, self-reliant, although Mars in Scorpio has this trait too. Mars in Capricorn can be authoritative, short-tempered-petulant, unlikable and impatient, and can be spiteful-vindictive at its worst like Mars in Scorpio.

Mars has a similar land mass to Earth, giving impetuous that they used to be life on Mars; Mars has the tallest mountain in the solar system, it also has the most giant dust storms in the solar system.

When viewed from Mars, the Sun appears to be half the size it is than when its viewed from Earth, The Egyptian astronomers were the first to record having seen Mars’ in the second millennium BC.

Pieces of Mars have found their way to Earth, having fallen off, and the sunsets on Mars are blue; there is frozen water on Mars, Phobos one of Mars’s moons, will crash into mars surface and die, in about 30 to 50 million Earth.

Mars get the Earth ready for spring in the countries that have spring, and as the ruler of Aries, Aries symbolises the planting season.

The farmer sows his seeds, and when the human is meant to, think of new ideas and set them into motion.

 Continuing to work towards the projects they started in the prior seasons, but as co-ruler of Scorpio, Mars also controls the season of Autumn- fall.

This is when the farmer gathers up the harvest for the last crop before winter; although some crops do fruit in winter, few do.

Fall is also the season where humans get ready to reflect on the previous efforts of the last 9 months, getting ready for the final 3 months of the year.

Sayings like you got a spring in your step come from the observation that when the spring solstice happens, humans instinctively get an influx of energy that, if used correctly, can be used to make what appears to be mini miracles happen.

Spring feels us with enthusiasm; fall feels us with feelings of wanting to catch the last rays of the Sun, doing as much as we can before the pending winter sets in and we begin to slow down.

Humans tend to slow down in Autumn, getting ready to spend more time indoors and have a slower pace of life than in the spring and summer; Keats said Autumn was a “season of mists and mellow fruitfulness.”

 Mars energy in Aries teaches us to go out and act, mars energy in Scorpio tells us to plan, to put away – hide some of what we have reaped from our hard work.

 And to conserve some of our personal energy, diffusing it periodically throughout the Autumn and winter until we have filled up again at springtime when Mars in Aries reigns again.

Spiritually the action of Mars shows us that there is a time to be aggressive, initiate and force our will.

They are two moons on Mars, both behave differently; Deimos is very active, always propelling- itself forward, expending its energy without thought.

Early in geeky facts about mars, I noted that Phobos, which is linked to phobia, will die in about 20-30 million years.

Whereas the ever pushing Deimos will live on longer, Phobos moves slower, but that doesn’t mean it is inactive; it’s just more reserved in how it uses its energy.

Phobos is small; it’s about 16.8 miles in diameter, but although it appears to move slower, it actually only takes Phobos 8 hours to orbit Mars and Deimos takes 30 hours. 

Making a clear example of yes Deimos may move about more, yet it’s wasting most of its energy in doing so, it’s like the person who goes about showing off their muscle showing how toned they are, but they don’t do much else with their life.

Phobos is smaller and does not move in such a forceful and energetic way, yet it achieves its end faster, there is a saying, and haste makes waste, meaning moving too fast wastes time in the long run.

In a marathon, the fastest running finishes first and the slowest runner finishes last, but both achieve their purpose; they complete the race.

To efficiently use your mars energy, you need to know when to sprint and when to stroll; Mars in Aries, it symbolises moving fast, rushing, pushing your efforts to your upper limit, doing as much as you can, as quick as you can.

Mars in Scorpio represents choosing where to put your attention and efforts and doing it in a focused way, doing what needs to be done, and only that.

Mars in Aries energy is the childlike thinking of thinking there will always be enough time to complete things, whereas Mars in Scorpio knows time will end and lives life accordingly.

Esoterically there is a need to find a balance between these two mars expressions, prioritising the things that are urgent in your life and doing them as efficiently and timely as possible.

But also taking time to decide what these priorities are not everything that needs to be done now; some things need to be planned and worked towards with laser-like focus.

Knowing how to work the seasons, you plant your seeds in the spring when the Sun is in Aries, then you work each month to reap your harvest in the fall- Autumn when the Sun is in Scorpio.

You do this each year until you achieve your goals, prioritising them in order, never missing a step in the plan, but if you do, you make up for it, go fast when need be, and slow when need be.
